Yes. Bigger, heavier dogs put more pressure on their joints, so they benefit most from orthopedic support. A structured foam base relieves the hips, elbows and spine — especially important for large breeds prone to hip dysplasia and arthritis as they age.

Measure your dog from nose to tail while they’re lying down, then add about 15–30 cm (6–12 inches). Your dog should be able to lie fully stretched out without any part hanging off the edge. For large breeds that like to sprawl, size up rather than down — a bed that’s too small is the most common reason dogs won’t settle.

Most adult Labradors, Golden Retrievers and similar large breeds (around 25–40 kg / 55–90 lb) fit our Large size, with room to stretch out. Giant breeds such as Great Danes or Mastiffs should size up further. When in doubt, measure nose-to-tail lying down and add 15–30 cm.

It depends on how your dog sleeps. Dogs that curl into a ball prefer round or bolstered beds with raised sides to rest their head against and feel secure. Dogs that sprawl, stretch or sleep on their side do better on a rectangular bed with room to fully extend. Many large breeds are sprawlers, so a spacious rectangular orthopedic bed is usually the best fit.

Remove the inner cushions first, then machine wash the cover cold (30°C / 86°F) with a mild detergent. Do not bleach. Tumble dry on low or air dry flat. Do not iron and do not dry clean. Spot-clean the inner foam as needed rather than soaking it.
